Officially founded on May 8, 1911, by its first members, this club filled the need for this type of long distance rowing amongst many other rowing clubs that aimed at short distance speed rowing in the area of Hamburg. In August of that same years, the club was registered in the Deutsche Ruderverband. This meant that the club was eligible to participate in official national competitions. And it did.…
